=About the work=
«As humankind's development and advancement of the planet has polluted the seas, the fish have disappeared from the oceans, and the merpeople once thought to be the stuff of myths and legends have had no choice but to become human and live on land.
When returning to the ocean for a brief time to retake their original form, they are sometimes once again forcefully dragged back onto the land.
This is because they have value as an extremely rare form of sushi.»

- What if the fish used for sushi was actually from merpeople?
I have chosen to express this world concept in the form of illustrations, ceramics, glass, and other flat and three-dimensional formats as well as through combinations of differing materials.

The use of resin molding over the human figure to create the fish half of the merperson evokes the instability of the merpeople's existence and need to continually cross between sea and land, as well the transitory and fleeting nature of the ocean home of the merpeople which seem like they may disappear completely at some point.
