=About the work=
This is a character which I created to be an embodiment of the memory of the oceans and to illustrate the reality of the polluted oceans.
The part of the human brain which controls memory is called the "hippocampus", which is taken from the name for the genus of seahorses, because of the similar appearance of the brain's hippocampus to a seahorse's body.
When seahorses reproduce, the males store and care for the eggs within their own bodies.
I was moved by the mysterious nature of this circumstance, which is something we could not normally see in the human world, and expressed it as a being that will help create life.
